A Perfect White Christmas
Well as perfect as anything can be. The snow did stay so I got my white christmas. It’s been trying to melt away, it rained a little bit christmas eve and day. But it is still on the ground so it was a white christmas.
Christmas eve was spent at my boyfriend parents where we had a very good ham dinner. Then came presents, which as much as I grow up I still love to open! I ended up getting a new bamboo cuttingboard (yay!), a polar bear stuffed animal, and a Foxtrot book which is awesome because Foxtrot was my favorite comic. I’m sure I’ve missed some little things, but that’s okay lol. Oh! And we got a set of Salmon Kings tickets which come with one ‘gift’, which this year is a SKings toque.
After we got home my boyfriend and I opened our presents to each other. I got the book 1001 Places to See Before You Die. I’ve been wanting it for so long so I can see what there is around the places we’re going in Europe (hopefully in September if life is kind). I also got two Queen records. Yes vinyl records lol. He found me A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races. I’ll have to listen to them later today I think. And I got an Evanescence piano book! It’s got all the songs from Fallen in it. I haven’t tried any yet, but I think I may try to learn either Hello or My Immortal first. They have such beautiful piano in them.
Christmas morning we headed out to my dad’s place. From my dad we got a Wii!! I was so happy I was hugging it in my lap while we all finished unwrapping the other things lol. It came with Wii sport and we have it hooked up to the internet and bought Super Mario Bros. from the virtual console. It’s so much fun! I’m not bad at bowling but I suck at baseball. I haven’t tried the others yet. We want to get a new game (I’m not sure what) and probably another controller. I need to buy some more Wii points and get some more old games. I want all the Mario games, and Ecco the Dolphin…I never did beat it when we had the Sega Genesis. After my dad’s there was the family brunch with the rest of my dad’s family. We draw names and my Aunt got mine. She got me a Canucks fleece blanket, which is incredibly soft, two Canucks mugs (that change color when you put hot stuff in them) and a Canucks hand towl and facecloth. And a box of swiss hot chocolate. I also sold two more of my calendars yesterday, and my whole family thinks I should be taking pictures for a living…but that’s for another post lol. My gramma actually bought me a picture tray…which is exactly what I got here lol, but I put my photos in hers, and the one I got is empty. It was very neat! And we got another set of Salmon King tickets so we’ll each get a toque! lol
Last night was dinner at my mom’s place. It was a delicious turkey dinner…though I didn’t end up eating much turkey. I think I had too much stuffing lol. After dinner we opened presents. My mom got us a roaster oven thing that apprently cooks like a barbeque (we can’t have a bbq at our apartment) and she got my old Canucks “Road Trip” poster mounted! It looks awesome. We need a house so I can decorate a room with all my Canucks stuff lol. My brother got my a little treasure chest which was cool (I love pirate stuff) and a really nice necklace that I think is made of wooden beads.
It was a great christmas, all presents aside. I had a great time seeing all the family, though I miss my aunt, uncle and cousins on my mom’s side. They live quite far away. But it was a great Christmas, and I hope everyone else had a good one too! Now I’m off to decide where to brave the lines to get a new game for the Wii lol…and make sure I don’t forget my camera! (we’ve had snow for over a week and I still have no snow pictures!!)

My name is Carla. I'm a Canadian girl, Coca~Cola drinker, loyal Canucks fan, avid Stephen King reader, amateur photographer, Legend of Zelda addict and wannabe pirate. And yes, I know I'm a dork.

A wii sounds like a wonderful present. If you’re going to buy a game I reccomend Guitar Hero. It’s a lot of fun! :) I don’t have a wii or PS but my friends who do are all addicted to Guitar Hero.
I agree with you about Immortal. The piano in that song is wonderful. The entire song is wonderful. It’s definitly my favourite Evanescence song.

My family got a Wii as well, though I wanted an Xbox. Can’t say I complain though, since it’s the very first video game console we ever have.

I’m not really in the whole Wii craze— I just stick to my old psp2 and GTA3:P

Haha… I can tell that you really wanted a white christmas…. you’re defending it like crazy!! XD
Wow… another person that got a Wii. There must be 5 billion of those on the planet! At least you got SOME creative stuff… “bamboo cutting board” equals super cool! (I like how I’m judging you over something in which you had no control).
Ham Dinner… Turkey Dinner… what’s next? You ate well this year! XD
Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed your Christmas. Oh, and nice layout.

Ooh, sounds like you had a great Christmas! Haha, I love how you were hugging your Wii. I got one last year, and I absolutely love it. On Wii Sport, I’m really good at bowling too. Tennis is fun, try that! :P
Happy New Year, and I hope you have a terrific 2009!
