Is making my own comic lame?
I’ve become addicted to checking xkcd to see if they’ve put up a new comic. I love comics, I always have, and in recent times have thought of making my own. Is that lame? I’m sure there’s millions of webcomics out there that are not funny nor interesting at all, but then again isn’t that what a lot of the internet is anyways? This probably isn’t making much sense because I’m writing it while half listening to the Canucks get their asses handed to them by the Devils (guessing having coaches yell at you in practice has the opposite effect then what they intend) and because I’m trying to decide if I should start doodling up some characters or just go around reading more comics. I have a couple ideas for some strips already. I’ve only come up with one long name for it so far, I may have to think of something shorter…but meh. It would just be a bunch of random things that happen in life that I find amusing or annoying or I just think of out of nowhere. And then I’ll have something else to put on my website, yay!
Anyways, I’m on book 4 of my 50 books in a year. I’ve got a thread started at Shelfari) keeping track of all my the books I’ve read. My actual goal is 20 since I don’t read much anymore, but I would love to get to 50. And it’s just books, not novels, so any little books I read can count towards it to! lol. Right now I’m reading The Ruins by Scott Smith. I’ve heard conflicting things about the movie, but Stephen King has a quote on the front of the book that says it’s “the best horror novel of the century”. Stephen King is my all time favorite author so I figured it could be fun to read something he enjoyed. So far I’m actually quite enjoying it. I like the characters. They have such normal quarks. I’m not too far into it, but so far it’s good enough that I want to keep reading. I failed in my attempt to read Atonement. The Ruins is the first non-King horror book that I’ve ever read (so far as I can remember).
That’s about it really. I haven’t done a thing about any of my sites in a while. I have started a new Mario Party game on the DK board and this time it’s not Luigi or Waluigi beating me…it’s Toadette! sigh I kick butt in most of the minigames I just can’t get to the bloody stars! I don’t remember having such a hard time with the computer characters on Normal…

My name is Carla. I'm a Canadian girl, Coca~Cola drinker, loyal Canucks fan, avid Stephen King reader, amateur photographer, Legend of Zelda addict and wannabe pirate. And yes, I know I'm a dork.

Lol, I was going to join that 50 Books a Year thing on Shelfari, but my new job’s taking a toll on me. I don’t think I could even make 5 books. xD

I know!! How good is he?? Aww I want to read the Grinch one, I think that would be fun. And I agree… although I’d probably in for a whole lot of childish rhyming as a result that would get very annoying… but oh well its Dr. Seuss .

XKCD is awesome! I’m always checking that one and I also love Cyanide & Happiness. There’s this cool one I found called Misfile about a file clerk in heaven that misfiled documents and changed the fate of two people. Its cute. I don’t think its lame to start your own. If you like them, go for it!

I personally don’t think it’s lame to make your own comics.
I’d kinda like to take that book challenge. I’m currently on my 5th book this year if you can believe that. I like to read. Lol.
