I went out today to take pictures. I usually go out early and try to be home around noon so I can relax for the rest of my day off. That didn’t happen. I went out to Beaver/Elk Lake park here in Victoria which was about a twenty minute-half hour bus ride from where I live. That was fine. Then I got off the bus earlier then I should have, not knowing the bus stops in that area, so I walked the five-ten minutes to the entrance to the park. When I got there I started taking pictures of the trees and the lake. I followed the trail around the side closest to the highway. I’m not sure exactly how far it was, but my guess in the end I probably walked about 5k including the walk to the park and getting to the bus stop at the other end.

As per usual I wasn’t overly happy with the result of my photos. It was too cloudy and yet bright and I’m not fully knowledgable about the settings on my camera yet. Many of the photos in more open spaces were too bright and washed out looking. I know I can fix them but I have this obsession with getting the perfect photo right out of the camera. I did get a few good shots. I posted one of the ones that may not be great but I thought looked cool on my photoblog: bcshutterbug

I’m almost 200 pages into Inkheart now. It’s my second book in my revised book goal for this year. I’ve decided the attempt at 50 books is going to be from the beginning of the year instead of November when I initially started. And also that they all had to be new books. I have a huge list of books I want to reread, but I figured after reading The Ruins and enjoying it so much that I should try some new authors. I’m trying to get through Inkheart asap to try and catch the movie in the theatre but I have a feeling that’s not going to happen. It’s getting a little bit better though. A bit too easy for my taste, which surprisingly is making it harder to get through instead of easier (makes no sense I know).

After Inkheart I’ll have to decide what to read next. I have a Dean Koontz book called The Face that I got from work (we bring in old books for others to enjoy). I’ve never read a Dean Koontz so that will probably what I do. I’ve also got a few books I bought a while ago but never read, like Memoirs of a Geisha. I also have a book called Ireland that I never got into. I think I have one called Princes of Ireland too that I never did read. Usually what happens is I buy a book and then suddenly there’s a new Stephen King book out and I have to read it.

Which reminds me there is a new Stephen King book out but I haven’t bough it yet lol.
